QuiltCon 2025: Phoenix

I had the opportunity to go to Phoenix, AZ for QuiltCon 2025 and I’m so excited to share my experience with you!

Here’s a quick photo dump of the fun people (and great outfits!) from the event. Photographed: Dana Miller (@coastsidequiltstudio), Luci (@seagardensewing), Jamie (@getzmadeco), Angie (@quiltyshug), Jenny (@jennysimsmakesthings), Meesh (@silverlinedstitches), Fran (@cottonandjoy), Anna (@annariemakesstuff), Erin (@theblanketstatement) Kacey (@kaceycrutch), Stephanie (@hillside.stitches), Bailey (@copperandcitrus), Amber (@alderwoodstudio), Katie (@crestview.quilts), Fiona (@spunstraw), Tiffany (@villageboundquilts), Brooke (@eudamoniastudios).

Demo at the Riley Blake Designs Booth

I had the opportunity to demo an Alamo Square Quilt block at the Riley Blake Designs booth on opening day of the show. It was really fun (despite a bit of a sewing flub!) to showcase how this block comes together. I was especially honored to use the Between the Pages fabric designed by Fran Gulick of Cotton and Joy for my sample. Isn’t it just so pretty?!

We got tattoos (sorry, mom!)

My friend group (affectionately named the Misfits) decided to band together and get matching tattoos. We were fortunate that Paige of Ponderosa Creative traveled to Phoenix to have a pop up at a local studio so we could book her time. We all got sawtooth stars with a personalized doodle on the inside. I opted for a poppy and I love how it came out! It’s my first tattoo and I get to share it with my friends!

Now for the QUILTS!

It took me all four days of the show to make it through the quilts. There was SO much to see and they were all so awe inspiring. At certain points, I felt completely overwhelmed with the immense creativity of the artist and was so impressed by how much beauty and love was poured into every quilt. I will forever be amazed by the talent in the world!

What a BLAST!

It was an incredible trip and I cannot wait until I can go back and immerse myself in the quilty community again! Comment below to share your favorite moments from the event!
