Sunset Star Quilt Pattern Launch

Introducing the Sunset Star Quilt

Typically, I design my quilts based on landmarks in San Francisco, where I live. However, I took a different approach to this quilt design. I pulled nostalgic elements of quilting, such as the Sawtooth Star, as well as fond memories of my beginning years here in the city. I thought back to the first apartment my spouse and I moved into in the Sunset District. It was teeny tiny, and we were barely scraping by. We weren’t sure how we would survive in this busy city with the rapid change of pace and the ever-constant struggle to make ends meet. We made a lot of sacrifices, but kept pushing forward and finding little joys along the way. This design represents to me the simplicity of our first years, the drive to move ourselves forward, and the appreciation I have for the foundations of where it all began.

Classic. Clean. Vivid.
