Embarcadero Quilt Pattern Launch

Introducing the Embarcadero Quilt

Embarcadero Quilt is the fourth San Francisco-inspired quilt that I have designed and it is representative of the famous Embarcadero along the bay side of the city. There’s a long walking path along the water’s edge and it has amazing views of the Bay Bridge and Oakland on a clear day. You can often see boats sailing past and the occasional seal popping up from out of the water. One of our favorite weekend activities includes walking from the Giants Stadium all the way to the Ferry Building, roughly a mile and a half away. We love seeing all the beautiful views and cityscape along this walk, ending at the Ferry Building and grabbing coffee and a bite to eat. This quilt is inspired by our family walks and pulls directly from the stunning architecture of the Ferry Building. I’m thrilled to share this little sliver of our family’s tradition with you.

Striking. Modern. Chic.

This pattern is rated at an Intermediate level and uses templates to create the gorgeous curve shapes. Pattern can be made in the sample four color version, but also may be adaptable to a two or three color version!

Cover sample uses fabrics from Ruby Star Society, Speckled collection (Black, Dove, White Gold, and Witchy) with backing fabric in Moonglow (Navy) by Alexia Marcelle Abegg provided by Ruby Star Society.

Pattern Tester Versions and Variations

Matthew (IG: @thequiltyarchitect) chose these marbled Giucy Giuce fabrics in his signature color palette and gave such a sensational effect. The texture of the fabric gives a direct nod to the Ferry Building inspiration and the colors pop so marvelously off the background. Beautiful work, Matthew!

Amy (IG: @amyjohnstonrobertson) made a bright and happy version of her Embarcadero Quilt. She used a gorgeous butterfly print for the background and paired it with such beautiful complimentary blenders. Her version really pops and is a perfect happy palette!

Bonnie (IG: @andclydehandmade) used an incredibly cool color palette. The icy blues give great compliment to the geometric print in the small curves. Her quilt lines dance across her quilt and really make this modern quilt stand out. Amazing work, Bonnie!

Jeanne (IG: @jeanne.garcia) used a combination of large and small prints all over her version and it made major impact! The small curve beautifully showcases an adorable owl print and the coordinating colors give a cool and modern vibe. Jeanne has tested every pattern I have made and each time she never ceases to amaze! Gorgeous make, Jeanne!

Christina (IG: @SweetPotatoQuilts) made this show stopping baby sized quilt using her signature rich purples and pinks. The background fabric is a beautiful print and gives really great contrast and texture. It is so stunning, Christina!

Michelle (IG: @oh_sew_penny) made a baby sized Embarcadero Quilt and used a scrappy option for the Small Curves. She so playfully mixed fun and bright fabrics that resulted in an energetic and fun make. Her added border on the final piece framed her version beautifully.

Tina (IG: @milmiria) made one of each of the blocks in the pattern and crafted it into a lovely two-sided throw pillow. The blues she used were just perfectly paired with the grey tones. This is a perfect example of how the quilt blocks can be adapted!

Margaret (IG: @QuiltyLass) used beautiful, earthy colors for her sample of the Embarcadero Quilt. The boho theme and warmth of this palette really elevate the style of the quilt. Beautiful work, Margaret!

Sarah (IG: @acorncornerquilts) made a Hella Big Tote with her Embarcadero Quilt blocks. She chose fabrics that reminded her of San Francisco and perfectly captured the ease and style of the city. She used the tote as a picnic tote and it looks just perfect!

This group of testers have such incredible talent and skill, I am so impressed! Each person brought their own unique style and point of view to the pattern and truly made the pattern come to life. It is so much fun to get to know everyone through the process and see how the quilting community really comes together and supports each other. I am so grateful to get to know these wonderful makers! I cannot wait to see what everyone else creates with this pattern!
