Christmastime in the Haight

Classic Christmas

I’ve been working with Riley Blake Designs for the last year and I’ve had the privilege of getting to play with some of the most fun fabrics on the market today! This quilt is made with the POParazzi basics and are just beautiful in the baby sized Haight Quilt!

I’m thrilled to share my latest project: a vibrant baby sized Haight Quilt made with the stunning Riley Blake POParazzi fabrics in festive Christmas colors. With the quilt design being inspired by the stunning architecture of the Haight-Ashbury district, these fabrics burst with holiday cheer, making them perfect for a quilt that embodies the cheer of the season.

For the backing of the quilt, I opted to create a “party in the quilt back.” I pulled some fabrics from the Christmas is in Town collection by Sandy Gervais for Riley Blake Designs. I created some Sawtooth Stars and a checkboard row. I love that it gives some interest to both sides of the quilt!

I can’t wait to display this quilt in my home during the holiday season. Its vibrant colors and festive design will add a cheerful touch to my decor, capturing the unique joy of a San Francisco Christmas. With its stunning views, festive lights, and a sense of community, this city really comes alive during the holidays. Every time I see the quilt draped over the couch or hanging on my quilt ladder, I’ll be reminded of the warmth and magic that this special time of year brings. It truly feels like the perfect piece to embrace the spirit of the season!

The Haight Quilt Pattern is available on the SJM website in PDF and Printed Booklet formats. Wholesale options are also available for quilt shops!

Quilting was done by Dana Miller of Coastside Quilt Studio using the Beaded Petals pantograph.
